About Cursor

Cursor is a coding agent for building ambitious software. It helps developers understand codebases, plan and build features, fix bugs, review changes, and work across desktop, terminal, web, and team workflows.

Use Cursor’s own identity artwork when representing Cursor. The horizontal lockup of the cube and the CURSOR wordmark is the preferred logo; the cube or the wordmark can also appear alone.

Write the name as Cursor, not Cursor AI or Cursor Code.

Cursor’s voice

Write with clarity, confidence, and an orientation toward what developers can make. Keep technical explanations concrete and connect capabilities to the work they enable. Cursor’s voice can be ambitious without becoming abstract: it pairs bold product intent with practical descriptions of workflows and results.

Use short, direct statements when a feature or outcome can be explained plainly. For more complex technical subjects, add the specific mechanism, workflow, or limitation that makes the explanation useful.

  • “Cursor is your coding agent for building ambitious software”
  • “Delegate implementation to focus on higher-level direction”
  • “Cursor deeply learns your codebase before writing a single line”
  • “We have much to learn, try, and build”

Dos and don’ts

Do

  • Use Cursor’s own logo or the standalone cube to identify the brand.
  • Keep the palette legible and purposeful: use warm charcoal for text and controls, off-white for light backgrounds, and orange for emphasis.
  • Use Cursor Gothic for headings and EB Garamond for paragraph text.
  • Describe capabilities through real developer tasks such as planning, building, debugging, and reviewing code.
  • Make ambitious statements specific with a concrete product action or outcome.

Don’t

  • Don’t blur the typographic roles by using the paragraph face for headings or the heading face for body paragraphs.
  • Don’t promise a technical capability without explaining what the product does or how it supports the work.
  • Don’t use inflated claims in place of an actionable explanation.
  • Don’t call the product Cursor AI or Cursor Code.

More from the Brand Skill

Marketing imagery

Cursor’s editorial, campaign, research, and customer-story materials each use their own imagery. Preserve the context of each image: research graphics belong to technical storytelling, while customer portraits and related visuals belong to their testimonial or customer-story setting.

Product interface imagery

Use Cursor’s product-interface imagery when work needs to show the actual product, its workflows, or the experience of using agents. Show the real product interface rather than replacing it with generic editor mockups.

Brand positioning

Cursor is an AI coding agent platform for developers building ambitious software. It supports the work around code—not only writing it—with tools for understanding codebases, planning, building, debugging, reviewing, and collaborating across the development lifecycle.

Present Cursor as a practical tool for serious software creation. Connect its AI capabilities to developer outcomes: making difficult work more tractable, moving from ideas to code, and helping teams deliver ambitious products.

Cursor serves individual developers and engineering teams, including enterprise organizations. Keep the audience broad unless a specific piece of work is explicitly aimed at an individual, team, or enterprise context.

Brand imagery

Cursor’s published pages pair product storytelling with both interface views and more atmospheric visual treatments. Use atmospheric artwork for branded backgrounds, wallpapers, and illustrative treatments. Keep each image’s role intact: a background is not a logo, and product imagery should remain recognizable as product imagery.

A Brand Skill is a folder of brand guidance written for agents. Give it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another agent and ask it to follow Cursor’s guidelines. It starts at SKILL.md, which points to the right file for each task.

This copy includes the guidance and logos. It leaves out the reference images and font files.
