Chanel’s voice
Write with poise, sensory detail and quiet confidence. Favor considered, evocative language over hype; connect a product’s material, craft or effect to a larger feeling or story. Keep claims specific to the creation being described.
- “From the lights of Paris to pristine snow-capped mountains, all roads lead to CHANEL”
- “A place inspired by the 18 Place Vendôme boutique in Paris and of the spirit of Gabrielle Chanel, where freedom and creativity reign supreme”
- “Creations designed to express the contours of an allure according to CHANEL — that of a woman always on the move”
Dos and don’ts
Do
- Keep the visual language refined and composed; let the creation, its materials and its craftsmanship command attention.
- Use sensory, specific language to evoke a product’s character, finish or experience.
- Build stories around House signatures and creative themes when relevant, such as the camellia, comet, ribbon or tweed.
- Present product details clearly and accurately, with names and descriptions that match the creation.
Don’t
- Don’t crowd the composition with competing decorative elements or overwrought copy; preserve a sense of restraint.
- Don’t make unsupported product or performance claims; keep descriptions tied to the specific creation.
- Don’t treat a seasonal campaign’s imagery or palette as a universal identity rule.
More from the Brand Skill
Identity and campaign imagery
Use CHANEL’s own campaign and editorial imagery to convey mood, setting and House character. The House’s campaigns include seasonal beauty storytelling, gift campaigns and fashion-led visuals. Keep identity marks distinct from campaign artwork.
Beauty imagery
Use the beauty imagery as product and campaign references across makeup, skincare and fragrance. The range includes polished packshots, category imagery and seasonal editorial compositions; preserve the distinction between product presentation and campaign storytelling.
Fashion and eyewear imagery
Fashion and eyewear imagery is editorial and collection-led, alongside precise product views. Use campaign images to establish atmosphere and product imagery to show the design clearly.
Jewelry imagery
Use CHANEL jewelry imagery to show the creation, its materials and the House’s distinctive motifs. The House’s jewelry spans high jewelry and fine jewelry, from thematic collection stories to product presentation.
Services and experience imagery
Use service imagery to support stories about boutique care, appointments, repair, and the CHANEL & moi service experience.
Watch imagery
Show watches as carefully designed objects while using editorial imagery to communicate their creative world. Product details identify the material and construction; keep those details legible when presenting a watch.
