Stripe’s voice
Stripe’s voice is ambitious, direct, and grounded in what businesses can do. Lead with a clear benefit, then explain how the product works in concrete terms. Use specific evidence when making performance claims, and keep technical language accessible without flattening meaningful detail.
- “Financial infrastructure to grow your revenue”
- “We build programmable financial infrastructure, rethinking from first principles how financial services should work, to make it easier and cheaper for any business to start and scale”
- “Run your financial operations without jumping between tools. Receive, store, send, and spend funds all from the Stripe Dashboard”
- “A single integration and extensive documentation mean faster time to market, less maintenance of legacy systems, and more focus on customer and product experiences”
Dos and don’ts
Do
- Make the benefit clear and connect it to a practical business outcome.
- Use direct, plain language to explain complex financial tools and workflows.
- Support performance claims with precise, relevant figures when available.
- Keep product interfaces legible and purposeful, using Blurple for primary actions.
- Use the wordmark in slate or blurple on light backgrounds and in white on dark ones.
Don’t
- Don’t rely on broad claims without explaining what the product enables.
- Don’t make technical explanations needlessly opaque or ornate.
- Don’t set the wordmark in any color other than slate, blurple or white.
- Don’t let decorative treatments compromise the clarity of product information or actions.
More from the Brand Skill
Imagery brand surfaces
Stripe’s brand imagery includes soft, flowing wave forms, geometric Stripe-mark references, and campaign backgrounds. Keep these elements in their established roles as visual atmosphere or campaign artwork.
Imagery marketing
Stripe’s marketing imagery spans product-led illustrations, campaign graphics, customer stories, and editorial artwork. Keep marketing visuals connected to a clear business or product story; use customer imagery in its story context rather than as Stripe identity artwork.
Imagery product experiences
Stripe product imagery includes real and illustrative Dashboard views, payment steps, account workflows, data visualizations, and device interactions. Keep real product views accurate. When creating new product visuals, favor clear hierarchy, readable interface details, and familiar financial tasks such as paying, transferring, reviewing, and reconciling.
