About Mastercard

Mastercard connects people, businesses and governments through payment choices and technology that help make commerce secure, simple, smart and accessible. Its purpose-led work centers on connection, opportunity and participation in the digital economy.

The Mastercard Symbol, the two interlocking circles without the name, is the primary brand mark. Use Mastercard’s official artwork and keep it intact: never recolor, outline, stretch, skew, break apart or rearrange its elements.

Use the Symbol in full color. Grayscale and solid treatments belong to the Mastercard Brand Mark and are appropriate only when full-color reproduction is unavailable. On light backgrounds use positive artwork; on dark backgrounds use reverse artwork. Maintain sufficient contrast and clear space, and reproduce every mark at a legible size.

When writing the brand name, use “Mastercard”: uppercase M, lowercase c, no space. Set it in the same typeface as surrounding text. Do not use the Symbol as a letterform or read-through in a headline or body copy.

  • “Powering economies and empowering people”
  • “Unlocking potential for people, businesses and governments, all around the world”
  • “Connection is Priceless”
  • “We are dedicated to unlocking the potential of every individual”

Dos and don’ts

Do

  • Use official Mastercard artwork, preserve its proportions and colors, and give it clear space and sufficient contrast.
  • Write the name as “Mastercard”, with a lowercase c and no space, in the same typeface as surrounding text.
  • Lead with the human benefit, use direct language, and connect innovation with security, choice, inclusion or opportunity where relevant.
  • Keep visual and written communication clear, confident and welcoming.

Don’t

  • Don’t recolor, outline, distort, crop, separate or rearrange official Mastercard marks.
  • Don’t use the full-color Mastercard Symbol in grayscale or another color treatment.
  • Don’t place the Symbol as a read-through in a headline or body copy.
  • Don’t overstate a product benefit or rely on vague claims when a specific, understandable benefit is available.

More from the Brand Skill

Lifestyle imagery

Favor people-centered photography that presents technology and commerce as part of real life. Mastercard’s website shows individuals, families, colleagues and small-business owners in natural settings, often sharing a moment or using a phone, card, tablet or payment device. The tone is warm, candid and optimistic; represent people and places with breadth and dignity.

Product and graphic imagery

Use Mastercard’s circles, product visuals and interface imagery to make payment and technology concepts concrete. Keep the Mastercard identity intact.
