About Nothing

Nothing is a consumer technology brand building smartphones, audio products, software and AI tools around expressive design, useful simplicity and creative community. Its design language makes technology feel distinctive and human: it reveals engineering, draws on culture, and aims to make everyday interactions more engaging.

Use Nothing’s dot-matrix NOTHING wordmark as the brand signature, in black on white and light backgrounds. Use the brand’s own artwork rather than setting the name in a font.

Nothing’s voice

Write with confidence, clarity and a little irreverence. Nothing’s voice makes big ideas feel direct and accessible: it pairs a point of view about technology with human benefits, and it can use playful phrasing when the subject allows.

  • “We’re making tech fun”
  • “Rebelling against the status quo”
  • “Life without distraction”
  • “Different by design”
  • “Together, we’re reimagining the future of technology”

Dos and don’ts

Do

  • Make technology feel expressive, useful and engaging; connect design decisions to how people experience the product.
  • Let engineering show. Use transparency and mechanical detail to express what sits beneath the surface.
  • Draw inspiration from culture and creative communities, and keep the result human and distinctive.
  • Write in clear, direct language with personality. Make claims specific and support them with concrete product benefits.
  • Keep the palette to black, white and grays, with red used sparingly as the accent.

Don’t

  • Don’t make technology feel generic or detached from people’s lives.
  • Don’t hide the design thinking behind the product when its engineering or construction is central to the story.
  • Don’t let playful language obscure what a product does or how it helps.
  • Don’t retype the NOTHING wordmark in another font; use the dot-matrix artwork.

More from the Brand Skill

Brand, community and campaign imagery

Nothing’s imagery can bring together product design, creative culture and the people who shape the brand. Company storytelling emphasizes expressive design, local culture, music, art and community participation. For campaigns, choose imagery that supports the specific story rather than applying one campaign’s visual treatment to every brand touchpoint.

Website and service imagery

Nothing’s website presents its products, brand stories and services in a consistent brand context. Use its support and company imagery where the task calls for those experiences.

Product and product-feature imagery

Use Nothing’s product imagery to make form, material, finish and function legible. Product stories often emphasize mechanical construction, transparency, tactile details and distinctive geometry. Colorful finishes and expressive campaign treatments are also part of the range; let the particular product and story guide the image choice.

Product and software experience imagery

Preserve imagery that shows Nothing’s own product interfaces and experiences. Nothing OS is presented through deliberate layouts, distinctive iconography, personalisation and expressive motion; Nothing X and device features also appear as part of the product story. Keep interface imagery recognizable as the actual product experience when creating work that depicts it.
