About Nintendo
Nintendo creates games, systems, services, and experiences that bring people together. Its guiding purpose is “put smiles on the faces of everyone we touch”; express that purpose through playful, welcoming communication and clear, people-first product storytelling.

Use the Nintendo racetrack logo, the name inside a rounded capsule outline, as the brand signature. On nintendo.com it sits in white on a block of Nintendo red; it also appears in red on white. Keep the artwork as drawn rather than redrawing or substituting it.

Nintendo’s voice
Nintendo’s voice is warm, upbeat, playful, and welcoming. Lead with the experience people can enjoy, make the benefit tangible, and write plainly enough for a broad audience. Favor friendly invitations and energetic phrasing without letting enthusiasm obscure product details or conditions.
Match spelling and usage to the intended market. Keep product claims accurate and include relevant limitations or requirements where they affect the promise.
- “Creating smiles for generations”
- “Power up your play with Nintendo Switch 2”
- “All Together, Anytime, Anywhere”
- “Hang out together...inside the game!”
Dos and don’ts
Do
- Keep Nintendo red, the racetrack logo and the established typeface consistent across brand work.
- Write warmly and directly, connecting features to shared play, discovery, or enjoyment.
- Pair an inviting benefit with clear, accurate product details and applicable conditions.
- Use Nintendo’s own games, systems, characters, and services as brand imagery when they fit the task.
Don’t
- Don’t redraw, distort, or replace the racetrack logo, or separate the name from its capsule.
- Don’t let playful copy overstate a feature or omit a material requirement.
- Don’t mix regional spelling conventions within a single market-facing piece.
More from the Brand Skill
Imagery hardware and play
Nintendo hardware imagery makes the system and its ways to play immediately legible. Show the console, controllers, dock, screen, and play modes in crisp, uncluttered product views or natural play settings. Demonstrate real interactions—handheld, tabletop, and TV play; shared play; controller attachment; and GameChat—rather than relying only on abstract feature claims.
Use the official feature visuals as references for the Switch 2 experience, including magnetic Joy-Con 2 connections, adjustable tabletop play, display and dock details, and GameChat. Preserve the product’s actual appearance and depict features only in supported contexts.
Use clean Nintendo product imagery for hardware and bundles. Keep the system central; make included games or accessories clear without confusing the bundle contents.
Imagery games and campaigns
Nintendo’s own games, characters, events, and services can bring color, personality, and variety to the brand. Keep each property’s recognizable creative identity intact, and select imagery that supports the specific story or experience being communicated. Use commissioned game or event artwork as contextual material rather than as a substitute for the Nintendo wordmark.
