About Discord
Discord is a social platform for talking, playing, and spending time with friends and communities through voice, video, and text. Its visual world pairs a dark, vivid interface with expressive characters, playful 3D objects, and clear product imagery; its voice is welcoming, conversational, and energetic.

Use Discord’s own logo or its standalone Clyde symbol as the brand identity. Choose the white, black or Blurple version that stays distinct against its background. Do not treat a favicon, interface icon, campaign image, banner, product screenshot, or partner mark as a logo.

Discord’s voice
Write like a friendly, confident host: lead with what people can do together, explain benefits plainly, and keep the energy light without making every sentence a joke. Speak directly to the reader and use familiar language. Make technical or safety information clear, respectful, and reassuring.
- “Customize your own space to talk, play, and hang out”
- “Easily hop in and out of voice or text chats without having to call or invite anyone”
- “Privacy is an essential part of feeling safe”
- “We work to center youth voices in our product design and policies”
Dos and don’ts
Do
- Lead with friends, shared interests, and the social moment; make the product feel open and easy to join.
- Use direct, conversational language, active phrasing, and a little playful personality.
- Pair high-contrast typography with expressive characters, objects, and product imagery.
- Present product screens as clear, authentic views of Discord’s own experience.
Don’t
- Don’t make the brand sound distant, formal, or needlessly technical when a plain explanation will do.
- Don’t let decorative elements compete with the message or obscure product details.
- Don’t set the logo or Clyde on a background where it loses contrast; switch to the white, black or Blurple version that reads clearly.
More from the Brand Skill
Brand World
Discord’s visual world is lively, friendly, and character-led. It mixes expressive mascots and people with playful 3D objects, floating shapes, stars, and atmospheric backgrounds. Let imagery convey the feeling of friends gathering, playing, and sharing a moment; balance energetic details with clear space for the message.
Editorial and Campaign Imagery
Discord’s editorial and campaign visuals range from bold, character-driven illustrations to polished 3D objects, atmospheric scenes, and product-led compositions. Match the visual treatment to the story: playful for community and feature moments, clear and informative for engineering or safety topics. Use Discord’s own artwork and product imagery as the focus.
Product Imagery
Show Discord’s interface as an authentic product experience: real conversations, community spaces, settings, calls, and cross-device use. Keep interface details readable and let people, shared activities, and the product itself explain how Discord fits into everyday social play.

A Brand Skill is a folder of brand guidance written for agents. Give it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another agent and ask it to follow Discord’s guidelines. It starts at SKILL.md, which points to the right file for each task.
This copy includes the guidance and logos. It leaves out the reference images and font files.
