About Topicals

Topicals is a skincare brand focused on flare-ups, science-backed formulas, and shade-inclusive care. Its identity pairs a direct, playful voice with clinical credibility and expressive product imagery.

Use the TOPICALS wordmark as the primary brand mark and the flower T symbol where a compact mark is needed. Keep the wordmark in black or off-black so it reads clearly on white and on Topicals’ coral red.

Topicals’s voice

Topicals writes with warmth, confidence, and a wink. Keep language conversational and energetic, while grounding skincare benefits in science and making the brand’s inclusive purpose clear. Use playful turns of phrase without trivializing skin concerns.

Topicals’ own copy includes “Skincare for flare-ups,” “Science-backed, no fluff.” and “Why so serious? Let’s make flare-ups fun instead.”

Dos and don’ts

Do

  • Lead with clear, human language and keep the tone playful, confident, and supportive.
  • Make shade inclusion and science-backed care part of the brand story.
  • Keep product benefits direct and avoid unnecessary complexity.
  • Lead with coral red, black and white, and use pink as a soft accent.

Don’t

  • Don’t make skincare feel intimidating, exclusive, or like a burdensome routine.
  • Don’t use humor to dismiss chronic skin conditions or individual concerns.
  • Don’t present product results as universal; use the appropriate study context and qualification when making results claims.

More from the Brand Skill

Imagery brand and campaign

In Topicals identity, campaign, and community imagery, favor expressive, personality-led brand moments alongside clear product storytelling and inclusive skin representation.

Imagery product and ecommerce

Topicals product imagery combines distinctively colored packaging, clean packshots, product-in-use scenes, textures, and skin close-ups. Keep the product legible and recognizable; use real-looking, varied skin tones and show skin concerns with care. Product galleries and before/after imagery are product-specific examples, not a universal requirement for every composition.

Imagery product use

Show products being used in relatable, expressive moments, with skin and texture treated naturally. Use before-and-after imagery only when it is relevant to the product story and represent results responsibly.
