About Diptyque

Diptyque is a French Maison of artists, founded in 1961 in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Its world joins nature, travel, art, craftsmanship, fragrance, and imagination in poetic creations for the home and body.

Use Diptyque’s own wordmark and standalone emblem as brand identity artwork. Keep their proportions and distinctive letterforms intact; do not redraw or distort them.

Diptyque’s voice

Write with poetic clarity. Ground sensory language in specific materials, places, memories, and natural details; let imagination and atmosphere emerge from those particulars. Favor graceful, vivid sentences over generic luxury claims, and describe a fragrance as an experience or story rather than a list of benefits.

Diptyque’s copy includes phrases such as “A journey for the senses, from reality to reverie and back,” “A tribute to creativity,” and “An olfactory portrait of a legendary bar.”

Dos and don’ts

Do

  • Build concepts around the Maison’s enduring inspirations: nature, travel, art, and the creative life of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
  • Use sensory details and specific materials to make poetic language feel tangible.
  • Let craftsmanship, illustrated detail, and the character of the object enrich the story.
  • Treat gifting, daily rituals, and a product’s second life as thoughtful moments of discovery.
  • Preserve the proportions and character of Diptyque’s own wordmark and emblem.

Don’t

  • Don’t replace sensory storytelling with generic luxury superlatives or unsupported product claims.
  • Don’t flatten the Maison’s poetic point of view into purely transactional copy.
  • Don’t distort, redraw, or repurpose Diptyque’s identity marks as decoration.
  • Don’t treat a seasonal or collection-specific visual treatment as the universal identity.

More from the Brand Skill

Imagery

Use an art-directed, sensory approach: products sit within considered environments, with natural forms, tactile materials, evocative light, and room for imagination. Balance clean product views with atmospheric campaign imagery and close studies of materials or craft. Preserve the product’s form, finish, label, and emblem when showing Diptyque creations. Seasonal campaigns may develop their own illustrative world; keep that treatment specific to the campaign.

The Maison’s visual world includes poetic product arrangements, heritage and atelier imagery, and crafted objects shown as both functional creations and works of art.
