About Slack

Slack is an AI-powered work platform that brings people, conversations, apps, and agents together. Its brand combines clear, practical guidance with an energetic, approachable voice and a focus on making work simpler, more connected, and more productive.

Use the Slack logo, the four-color octothorpe beside the slack logotype, for primary identification. On slack.com it carries the “from Salesforce” endorsement. Use the standalone octothorpe where space is limited.

Keep clear space around the logo at least the length of one pill shape in the octothorpe. Keep the octothorpe’s colors, size and position against the logotype as drawn.

Slack’s voice

Slack’s voice is direct, friendly, and optimistic. Lead with a useful outcome, speak to people in plain language, and make complex capabilities feel approachable. Use active, conversational phrasing and a light touch of playfulness; keep enterprise and security messaging confident without sounding alarmist.

  • “All your people and AI agents working together”
  • “AI in Slack delivers action, not just answers”
  • “Let your people connect like people”
  • “Bring conversations out of the inbox”
  • “Work without worry”

Dos and don’ts

Do

  • Leave clear space around the logo at least the length of one pill shape in the octothorpe; use the octothorpe alone where space is tight.
  • Use Aubergine and Slack Purple as the signature colors, and keep strong contrast between text and its background.
  • Make copy conversational, benefit-led, and easy to understand. Use active language and a human, encouraging tone.
  • Keep product imagery grounded in Slack’s real experience: channels, conversations, canvases, search, automation, and collaboration.

Don’t

  • Don’t shuffle or change the colors of the octothorpe, or change its size or position against the logotype.
  • Don’t re-create the logotype in another typeface, outline it, or add shadows and other effects.
  • Don’t use old versions of the Slack logo.
  • Don’t make the voice stiff, vague, or needlessly technical when a clear, human phrase will do.

More from the Brand Skill

Brand artwork and editorial imagery

Slack’s marketing imagery supports clear, lively storytelling about working together. It includes friendly dimensional illustrations, colorful geometric forms, product-led scenes, editorial cards, and photography of people working. Use this imagery to make the brand feel human, practical, and optimistic; preserve the role of each image in its surrounding design.

Product and experience imagery

Use authentic Slack product imagery to show work happening in context: conversations in channels, collaboration with agents, canvases, huddles, search, templates, and workflow automation. Product screenshots are part of the visual language; preserve the interface itself when depicting Slack. Use promotional scenes and illustrations to make the benefit clear without obscuring the product experience.

A Brand Skill is a folder of brand guidance written for agents. Give it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another agent and ask it to follow Slack’s guidelines. It starts at SKILL.md, which points to the right file for each task.

This copy includes the guidance and logos. It leaves out the reference images and font files.
