About GitHub
GitHub is a developer platform for building software together, connecting code, collaboration, automation, and security from first commit to enterprise scale. Its identity pairs clear, direct communication with distinctive green accents and a developer-first focus.

Use GitHub's Invertocat mark as the compact platform identity. Choose the white or dark treatment that reads clearly against its background, and keep the silhouette and proportions intact.
Keep GitHub, Copilot and partner marks distinct. Product screenshots and interface controls do not replace the GitHub identity.

GitHub’s voice
GitHub’s voice is confident, direct, and grounded in the work developers do. It makes complex capabilities feel practical, emphasizing collaboration, momentum, and control. Address people as builders and collaborators, not as passive audiences.
- “Build, secure, and scale on one platform”
- “Move faster. Stay in control”
- “Software still starts with you”
Dos and don’ts
Do
- Use the GitHub mark as supplied and give it clear visual separation from surrounding content.
- Build contrast with GitHub’s green and neutral palette, using color according to its established role.
- Write in direct, active language that connects the work to outcomes such as building, securing, and shipping software.
- Keep the developer’s agency visible: describe GitHub and Copilot as tools that support people’s work and decisions.
- Show product features in the context of real development workflows when creating product-focused work.
Don’t
- Redraw, distort, or substitute another mark for the GitHub identity.
- Treat the bright palette green, website accent, and button green as interchangeable when a specific role matters.
- Use vague, inflated language where a clear description of the developer task or benefit would be more useful.
- Suggest that Copilot replaces developers or removes the need for human review and judgment.
GitHub imagery

Brand imagery

Product interface imagery
